1. Who we are

origins.faith is a non-commercial memorial site that preserves the books of Dr. Hamdy Abdel Aal (1934–1990), professor at the Faculty of Sharia, Kuwait University, and makes them available for reading and research. It was prepared and is run by his son, Ahmed Abdel Aal, on behalf of the author's heirs (“we”). By using the site you agree to these terms.

2. Copyright

• Al-Milla wal-Nihla fil-Yahudiyya wal-Masihiyya wal-Islam (Dar al-Qalam, Kuwait, 1989) and the author's other books are protected by copyright held by his heirs and, where applicable, their publishers. Publishing them here does not waive those rights or place the books under an open licence.
• The English translation was machine-made with an AI tool and published by the site; it is treated like the original.
• Book covers and bibliographic data belong to their owners and are shown to identify the books.

3. What you may do

You may read and search the books, and quote them with credit to the author, the book, the page number and a link to this site, within fair dealing (Canada), fair use (United States), the right of quotation (EU and Berne Convention) and similar exceptions, for research, teaching, criticism, review and news reporting. Without our written permission you may not reprint or republish whole books or substantial parts of them, sell them, use them commercially, alter the text, or attribute it to anyone other than its author. 4. Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break the law, to disrupt or break into it, to scrape it at a volume that harms others, or to incite hatred or violence against anyone because of their religion.

5. No warranty, and limits of liability

The site is provided free and “as is”. The text was extracted by OCR and may contain errors, and the English translation is machine-made and has not been reviewed by a human translator. Please read the disclaimer. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the site, and our total liability is limited to CAD $100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law or affects your rights as a consumer under the mandatory law of the place you live, including the law of Quebec and other Canadian provinces, the European Union, the United Kingdom and U.S. states.

6. Removal and correction requests, and third-party rights

If you hold rights in anything published here (including a publisher's rights), or believe content is illegal, email [email protected] with: the right or problem; the URL; what you are asking for; your name and contact details; a statement that you act in good faith and that your notice is accurate; and your signature (a typed name is fine). Such a notice meets the requirements of the U.S. DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)) and of Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act. This address is our single point of contact for users and authorities, in Arabic or English. To correct a typo in the text, use the “Report a typo” link on each reading page.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction, but consumers may also sue in the courts where they live and keep the protection of that place's mandatory law. Please write to us first so we can resolve any problem informally.

8. Changes

We may change the site or these terms. Changes are published here with a new date, and their history is public in the repository. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
